success in mind, and you get results. What is Crossfit? CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program.

Our CrossFit gym, located in downtown Toms RIver, NJ delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat,survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience.

So what does that really mean? . CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements
(like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity.  It means that you will find pull-up bars,
kettlebells, barbells, and space for running, jumping, squatting, and lifting and not rows and rows of bikes and weight
machines. It means you will never get bored because of the constantly varied programming. And you don’t need to
worry about programming your own workouts. You will be provided with the workout that is scalable to your fitness level.

The workouts aim to improve you in the ten recognized fitness principles:
endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

1. PROGRAMMING
While the CrossFit model is constantly varied, the programming of any box should be anything but to the Head Coach. CrossFIt encompasses different time domains: short tend to range from three to ten minutes, medium which tend to range from ten to twenty minutes, and long domains last twenty minutes or more. The shorter ones tend to focus on high intensity, accompanied by low reps while long ones focus on lower intensity and high volume and reps.

CrossFit Toms River takes pride in helping their athletes hit many different time domains. It is certainly not good for the athlete or their recovery to constantly hit those long WODs. We also program strength and skill based programs so that our athletes get better and stronger.

Our coaches stress dynamic range of motion stretching, warm-ups, mobility, and post-WOD stretching. They know that doing these things help with proper recovery. We are proud of our programming, and our athletes and others can see it every day on our website.

2. COACHING
All our coaches are certified CrossFit trainers. To that end, they have knowledge of all movement standards and can clearly communicate in a group setting. They are also able to modify each movement to individual athlete needs. The group has a diverse skill set and continues to educate themselves in different disciplines. And while they will always push you and show up with a positive attitude, you are here to get better. This means they will instruct you on the correct way to do the movements.

3. COMMUNITY

Our community at CrossFit Toms River is second to none. It’s easy to witness this in each class. Our coaches and athletes generate a positive environment each day. The athletes push each other and are friendly. But it is also outside the box where it truly is seen. Whether it’s helping a member move, clean up after a disaster, or just a good old social night.
